Castle hill is the top end of the Royal Mile. It is the narrowest part of the stretch and has many interesting buildings: the Edinburgh Old Town Weaving Centre sell all the tartan kilts and rugs your heart desires, the Witches Fountain pays homage to the three hundred women that were burnt here, accused of sorcery.
The Ramsay Gardens are a scenic area of land in the centre of the city. Other points of interest include Cannonball House, the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre, the Outlook Tower, Scottish Parliament and The Hub (Edinburgh's Festival Centre).
