Why oh why was this restaurant so busy? Two mussel starters at £8.50 a head which we sent back due to the lack of er .. mussels. Those that were still resident were all less than a centimetre long. Owners explanation ... they are out of season ... mmm.... then why on the menu we asked. They were replaced by a pasta in a tasteless goo and a bowl of spare ribs that had obviously been nuked as the sauce was still bubbling. One Avocado starter came with a miniscule amount of the tiniest cheap and nasty prawns i've seen covered in a variation of the pasta goo. The chicken liver starter was ok . One out of six. Main courses ... Two steaks reasonably well cooked, but i'd expect better than that for £18.50, and two plates of veal which started off ok but the sauce really ended up tasting like an over rich sludge.
