For flights to Galashiels, Peebles and other Borders towns, the options are to fly direct to Edinburgh Airport just 40 miles north of Galashshiels or Newcastle Intl Airport, 70 miles to the south. Both airports offer scheduled, charter and no-frills flights to and from Europe and the UK.

For onward travel to the Borders from the airports the easiest is to hire a car as the region has no local train network and coaches are far from frequent.
