Great accommodation. Forceful sell!

Posted by mikekat from Hull, United Kingdom

I allegedly won a free membership worth £3750 pounds and booked a week at Brunston Castle which cost me £163. It has great, modern and fully equipped lodges, a nice pool and gym area, a childs play area albeit not very big, brilliant surroundings and views.

Downside is being put under a bit of pressure to chat to the salesman there regarding what this memebership is all about. Now I was asked if a certain time and day was acceptable for a chat and agreed. My partner and I decided that the time given split our day up so I asked if we could change and was told no and was asked if we knew what we had won and I said yes I did and explained to him that with this free membership I allegedly won that by paying the yearly rate of I think £362 that I could book any week away in 6 UK resorts and several other european resorts dependant on bookings to which he said.'No you are totally off the mark' which to me contradicts the letter I was sent and the information given to me by the Clubseasons rep over the telephone when I first contacted the company.

Feeling totally bemused I stuck to our decision and he just said 'I will tell my boss and he will highlight on his computer that we didn't want to chat', whatever that meant!! Anyway I'm not sure now if we can still pay the fee next year and choose a resort and date or that we have been dumped!! Not happy with the way this guy came across and felt like I'd committed a crime not attending a chat with them regarding our membership. I can only assume it was to get more money out of us by upgrading or something. For £163 we couldn't complain really but it was obvious why they wanted us and others there and that was to get more money out of us and fill the weeks up.
