Located just north of Ayr, about 30 miles from Glasgow & 70 miles from Edinburgh, Glasgow Prestwick Airport has a rapidly increasing choice of low cost flights plus scheduled & charter flights to airports across Europe. Previously the main hub for transatlantic flights to Scotland, most of the air traffic from the USA & other long haul destinations is now handled by Glasgow International at Paisley & Edinburgh airports.

Prestwick Airport is easy to travel to & from. Trains to the integral railway station are especially popular with many passengers being eligible to free or 50% discount on train travel to & from anywhere in Scotland.

Famous as the one and only place in the UK visited by Elvis Presley - on Wednesday 2 March 1960, a DC-7 taking Elvis Presley home from Germany stopped off to refuel at Glasgow Prestwick.
