This is beautiful farming country in the Southern Uplands, which boasts a UNESCO World Heritage Site among its attractions. New Lanark is an immaculately preserved 18th century mill village that sits on the banks of the River Clyde, near Cora Lynn and the other Clyde Falls. To the west is the ancient burgh of Strathaven, where you will find a castle, and a museum of local history.
