Maidstone & Medway towns Travel Guide

Maidstone has bee an important regional centre for centuries and is also home to the Museum of Kent Life. A few miles out of the town centre is Leeds Castle, a fairy tale building built on an island and surrounded by 500-acres of gardens and parklands. Rochester is another historic Kent town, which boasts a cathedral and a castle among its places of interest, and at Chatham there is a museum covering the history of the royal docks, which were based in the town from Elizabethan times up until the 1980s.
