Eastbourne is one of the countries favourite holiday destinations, with lovely beaches, a selection of great accommodation and a range of exciting events.
Like many other south coast resorts, Eastbourne blossomed under the patronage of Hanoverian royalty. In 1780 George III’s children holidayed here and the seeds were sown for the dignified seaside town that we recognise today- a process that was nurtured by the coming of the railways some sixty years later.
Eastbourne boasts a selection of highbrow attractions including the Wish Tower, which started life as a Martello Tower to defend the South coast from Napoleonic threat, the Redoubter Fortress, military museum and open-air venue and The Towner Art Gallery.
