Uckfield is a busy market town dating back to 1220. Situated in the heart of east Sussex it has good links to London. It doesn't hold much for the tourist although it is a good central base to visit the lovely towns of Lewes and Crowborough.

Situated on Hadlow Down, is Wilderness Woods, a beautiful, privately woodland area where you can go at Christmas time and choose your own Christmas tree and have it dug up ready to take home. There is an adventure play area for the kids and activities for them, which are all to do with the woodland.

Every July is the rapidly expanding Uckfield Festival, a collection of comedy, dance, drama, music and art; a great event for adults and children.
