Dorset’s county town, Dorchester, lies on the River Frome among countryside where the great Thomas Hardy, the famous English novelist was born.
Dorchester has alot of ancient history and so is home to many museums including the County Museum, the Tutankhamun Exhibition, the Dinosaur Museum and the Military Museum. The courthouse where the Tolpuddle Martyrs were tried is now a museum and is dedicated to their achievements.
