This gorgeous stretch of coastline has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status thanks to the fascinating rock formations, which document the story of life on earth for over 185 million years. The medieval port of Lyme Regis has more recently found fame through the works of writers like Jane Austen and John Fowles and retains an extremely unspoilt air about it. To the east are the attractive town of Bridport and the fifteen mile stretch of Chesil Beach.
