Overview

Broadstairs has a Victorian air about it, which is assiduously preserved to capitalise on the Dickens connection. The author spent many summers at Fort House, where he wrote David Copperfield. The house, which was later renamed Bleak House, is now a museum.

As well as the obvious Dickens paraphernalia they have an interesting maritime section dedicated to the treacherous Goodwin Sands waterway, while the cellars feature displays on Broadstairs' smuggling heritage.
