The airport has excellent access by road, lying less than a mile from junction 5 of the M27, and only a few miles from the M3. Southampton lies around four miles to the south along the A335.
To travel to the airport by rail, Southampton boasts the shortest "train to plane" connection in Europe, with its dedicated Southampton Airport Parkway Rail Station. Regular trains run directly to London Waterloo, approximately every 30 mins, with a journey time of around 90 mins. Local trains run to the airport although some require change at Eastleigh.
Regular buses travel between the airport and Southampton City Centre, with up to two buses per hour. Solent Blue Line and Uni Link also operate a number of services from Southampton Airport Parkway Rail Station.
