Shanklin and Sandown are classic British resort towns and reside side by side in between the Sandown Bay. If you like all the holiday trimmings then Sandown is the perfect destination, complete with theme parks, deck chairs, sandy beaches, all day icecream and that nostalgic carnival atmosphere.
This is one of those places that hasn't really changed much since the sixties and will fondly remind you of family holidays as a kid.
If you are done with the historical monuments and searching for things to do, Sandown is perfect. You don't need to plan a thing here. You can laze on the beach and work up a tan, have a spin in a dodgem car or check out the zoo!
