Today, I traveled with Wilts and Dorset Buses. As usual I purchased a child day Rider ticket, which means unlimited travel all day. It cost me £2.10, this is 30p more expensive than it used to be. I went on 2 buses before, and on the 3rd bus today the bus driver refused to accept my ticket and said I was too old, however it has always been 15 and you get a children's ticket. However, he made me pay £1.70 for another single ticket for a short 10 minute journey. How can a bus company do this, to a schoolchild. As a result I shall never travel by bus, always by train. i used to think this way was dearer but after some research it now shows to be a cheaper way of transport. You also don't have to meet the awful bus drivers. In my opinion do not travel by any bus service in Bournemouth if it can be avoided. Why can't we have free bus travel for under 16s as in London. Why are they the only place in the country to have good and cheap transport/ The company are even taking away a service from where my friends live.
