Route 66 opened in November 1996 in Palmerston Road, Southsea and soon became infamous for being the south coasts premier party venue.
The club is comprised of two floors. The main floor was at ground level, which held many dance areas including the four areas, which surrounded the central bar, and the raised DJ booth, which over looked the whole venue.
