Jane Austen lived in the pretty village of Chawton with her mother and sister between 1809 and 1817; the house where they lived is now a museum dedicated to the celebrated author. And in sharp contrast the area has strong military connections, being home to the Military Museum at Aldershot, and it also plays host to the International Air Show at Farnborough.
