Browse Exhibitions in UK

From the Prehistoric to Picasso, Great Britain always has an exhibition headline that spans the centuries.

Britain has its own rich history from the early explorers who set off colonising and mapping the world to the uber cool Beckham empire of today; the UK is a field trip for arts, culture, history and exhibitions. The UK houses some of the world's greatest galleries and museums such as the Science Museum, the British Museum or the Museum of London. Why not try looking a little deeper and pass through any of the centuries old villages through out Britain, where you will always find smaller exhibitions showcasing the local treasures, history, art and culture. Diversity ranges from the famous biannual London Fashion Week to the Mac Expo or Ideal Home Show (that are all wildly popular). For something a little more obscure try the Ice Cream trade fair, the Knitting and Stitching Show or the Tackle and Guns Fair. Britain will always offer you a surprise. It’s not always display cabinet artefacts. Check out interactive film and media exhibitions where you can experience first hand what it is like to be a part of the action!
You can give yourself a history or arts degree for free if you have the time. Most larger galleries in Britain have free entry however visiting exhibitions tend to incur a fee. Read the plaques as you go, or hire an audio headset that educate you with comprehensive information regarding the work you are viewing. Exhibitions are both temporary and part of permanent collections. Most exhibitions offer gallery tours through out the day by historians, artists, curators or intellectuals. Guest speakers, visiting artist talks and special events for gallery members and the public are always something to look out for. Many exhibitions also offer interactive workshops for children, students and adults. Joining a mail out list for you favourite gallery or keeping a close eye on the current exhibition literature will give you all the details you need. Museums in major cities are generally open 7 days a week.
