| England is also home to the most weird and wonderful festivals and events that one could imagine. Usually paying homage to some sort of ye olde paganistic ritual, English festivals will never cease to amaze. For example there is the Coopers Hill cheese roll, that plays witness to dozens of obsessive locals and eager travellers falling face first down an outrageously steep property in pursuit of an out of control chunk of cheese. I am sure you had to be there? Or the yearly football in the river festival on Bourton-on-the-Water. Any excuse to kick back, have a boogie, be entertained and sip a cleaning ale. At any given time of the year there will always be some sort of festival, local event, performance or sporting show occuring through out the UK. Be sure to check local press for listings of smaller and off beat festivals in your area. Wouldn't want to miss out! |
