Most bus transport is provided by Arriva and BWS Gwynedd. Public bus services into the National Park and Black Mountains are quite sparse, but special alternatives and initiatives are being developed to reduce car traffic into the area.

Leave your car behind and check out the Beacons Bus, a special service from south wales towns to the Brecon Beacons National Park. It runs during the summer, from May to the end of August. The circular route includes stops at Hay-on-Wye, Garwnant, Brecon Mountain Railway, Aberglasny, the National Botanic Gardens, Crickhowell and Abergavenny.
