The Allt is named after the stunning prominent ridge, Allt Yr Esgair, which guards the beautiful Usk Valley; it is known to have been built before 1706. The Allt has been home to a number of families since then, and has been extended by each one of them in some small way, changing it from the humble cottage it once was.
