Abersoch is a popular village resort and internationally recognised sailing centre on the south coast of the Lleyn peninsula. The harbour and estuary are filled with various sailing craft and in August Abersoch plays host to a number of sailing events.

The town doesn't have nearly the Welsh feel of nearby Pwllheli, but it is a pleasant place and has lots of amenities - there is a good beach in town with pretty pastel beach huts, although it can get busy; nearby is one of Wales' best surf beaches at Port Neigwl (Hell's Mouth) which has 3 miles of beautiful sand; you can hire surf boards in town.

  • Nearby the St. Tudwal Islands are home to colonies of seals and you can take a 'seal spotting' boat trip. Land lovers can simply relax on wide sandy beaches on the north of Cardigan Bay.
