Llanfair PG 

South Anglesey can also boast having the village with the longest place name in Britain – Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, or Llanfair PG as it is known.

The place name is a surprising, early example of regional promotion; the name was given in the late 1800s with the soul aim of attracting tourists.

• Despite the hype, there is actually nothing to do at Llanfair PG, but you will certainly want to have your photo taken by a sign (the station is popular and has a helpful pronunciation guide written underneath). There is a decent tourist office if you need some inspiration.
