Aberystwyth Electric Cliff Railway

0 reviews | Write a review

The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway has been transporting visitors to the top of Constitution Hill since opening in 1896. The railway once operated on a water balance system, but was changed to electric in 1921. The carriages are hauled up to the top at four miles per hour, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the stunning views. On a clear day it is possible to see 26 mountain peaks across much of Wales.

  • Once at the top of Constitution Hill the views are amazing, you can also use the world’s largest camera obscura, which gives you a bird’s eye view of 1000 square miles. Not only that but once at the top, there are plenty of activities to keep the family amused, historical displays, a children’s play area, a lovely gift shop, and a café that makes delicious homemade food.
