To fly to the Mid Wales & Cardigan Bay area, Cardiff Airport, to the south, has scheduled flights to Glasgow, Dublin and Edinburgh plus various European cities and connecting flights from London and Amsterdam to airports worldwide.
The airports at Manchester (110 miles) and Birmingham (120 miles) are approximately 2 to 3 hours drive away, giving a wider choice of flights.
The popular resort towns of Aberystwyth, Cardigan and Lampeter in mid Wales and Cardigan Bay are relatively easy to get to from both England and Ireland. Holyhead Port is approximately 100 miles north of Aberystwyth and Fishguard just 60 miles south of Aberystwyth for ferries to Ireland.
There are good rail links from England via Birmingham and Shrewsbury.
Travelling by car is the best way to travel to Aberystwyth in the centre of Cardigan Bay - advice is to use the park-and-ride scheme to the centre of town which is often gridlocked.
