I would advise against anyone thinking of eating here. We booked a table for four on a busy Saturday evening. The menu and service seemed OK at first, usual meals such as lamb, beef, salmon etc. Prices vary from £9-£15 (mains). We ordered two fillets of welsh lamb in red wine with leek mash, and two lasagnes. When the food arrived, it was embarrassing, a grim colourless lamb meal on awful plates in a water like grey gravy. The lasagne came topped with an inch think layer of mild tasteless cheddar. The menu is vastly over ambitious and does not even get close to what is actually served. The food is vastly over priced especially as you feel it has all just come out of a microwave.
Response from Buckley Pines Hotel
This is malicious and libellous, but unfortunately these people do not have the balls to give their names. Had there been a problem on the evening they should have said so, again no balls. If even part of this were true we would not have so many returning customers and guests. It must be treated with the contempt it deserves!!! Finally, as we only had one table of 4 booked, we have their names! Of course everyone is entitled to an opinion, my opinion of these people is they are not worth worrying about, they are a miniscule minority.
