Berriew (Aberrhiw) is only small, but is in a wonderful setting by the River Rhiw, which meanders its way through the village. It proudly claims the title "Best Kept Village in Wales" and it isn't hard to see why. Like Montgomery, just a few miles southeast, Berriew is very much English in character, with black and white Tudor houses lining the main street.
The charming village is also home to a rather unlikely attraction, a museum dedicated to the work of the modern sculptor Andrew Logan, who started the "Alternative Miss World" Contest. Many of his weird and fantastical creations from the competition are on display as well as much of his other work.
