With Wrexham bordering England, this is a region most pass through rather than stay in although the Clwydian Mountains near Denbigh are scenic. On the coast Llandudno, Rhyl and Colwyn Bay are all popular resorts offering good beaches and the usual seaside attractions. Wales’ biggest amusement parks are at Rhyl and Prestatyn. For folk fans, Llangolen hosts the International Musical Eisteddfod for 6 days each year.
