Denbigh, like many Welsh towns; is dominated by a medieval castle perched high on a hill overlooking the town. Denbigh Castle is recognised as one of the strongest fortifications in Wales and is defended by a daunting perimeter wall and seven solid towers.

This is an attractive ancient market town, which boasts the explorer H. M. Stanley, who uttered the famous words, “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?” as one of its famous sons.

  • Denbigh is also home to Dyfnog's Well which is reputed to cure skin complaints and other ailments, it was very popular in the bygone days. The waters healing powers were said to come from St Dyfnog who did penance by standing under the waterfall in the 6th Century.
