Flint is a characteristically Welsh town, on the estuary of the River Dee. Surrounded by gorgeous rolling countryside, the town is best known for its castle.

Flint Castle was built by Edward I in the 13th century and is particularly interesting because it was here that Richard II submitted before his enemy Henry Bolingbroke in 1399. The castle is even the setting in a scene of Shakespeare's play, Richard II.

Flint is home to the 'Childrens Museum' which is a hands on museum designed for children between 6 and 10 years old. The Museum is designed to encourage children to learn, discover and imagine through hands-on play. If you have children you shouldn't miss an afternoon here.
