Prestatyn - Dyserth Walkway is a recreational footpath of nearly three miles along the route of a disused railway line. The LNWR opened the Dyserth branch in 1869 to carry minerals from the local mines and quarries to the main line.

  • A passenger service operated 1905-1930, but freight trains ran until 1973. The Walkway is now an important wildlife habitat, and it is the start of the longer North Wales Path that goes as far as Bangor. Running roughly parallel to the Walkway is the northern end of the Offa`s Dyke Path National Trail, and footpaths link them, permitting varied, circular walks.
