Snowdon is the highest Mountain in England and Wales, a dramatic ancient volcano that has been carved and sculpted by glacial movement. The Mountain offers amazing photo opportunities from every angle and the dramatic craggy slopes offer some of the best climbing venues in Europe. It was a favourite haunt for George Mallory and John Hunts famous team that first ascended Everest Successfully; trained here for their Everest preparations.

There are six main routes to the summit of Snowdon. They are fairly easy to follow, and mostly easy underfoot. For the person who is seeking a challenge, the Snowdon Horse Shoe is one of the best ridge walks that you can do anywhere.

If you want to admire the stunning views from the Summit but do not wish to climb these amazing slopes; the Snowdon Mountain railway runs from Llanberis and offers an easy access to Yr Wyddfa (the Welsh name for the Snowdon Summit).
