Conwy is a medieval walled town with a defensive lay-out and formidable castle, that were built by Edward I to deter Welsh uprising against his rule. It is quite unlike any other place, as the only access is via one of three bridges over the Conwy Estuary. Nearby are the pleasant seaside resorts of Llanfairfechan and Penmaenmawr.
