Beddgelert is set amongst scenery to rival that to be found in any part of the World. Situated amidst the mountains and lakes of Snowdonia, yet within easy reach of the coast and the main towns of Porthmadog and Caernarfon. Visit the grave of Gelert, the faithful dog of Prince Llewelyn, after who the village is named. Beddgelert is Welsh for Gelerts grave.

Whether you are looking for walking or activities, beach or sightseeing, or just a quiet getaway, we are ideally located to suit all kinds of holiday or short break. If you take a walk or drive towards Mount Snowdon you will travel through dramatic Nant Gwynant where the film 'Carry on up the Khyber' was filmed.

  • Stop awhile for a traditional Welsh tea or browse through the interesting shops, or maybe take a walk along the Glaslyn river as it makes its way down the dramatic Aberglaslyn Pass on its way to the harbour at Porthmadog from where much of the Worlds slate was once transported.
