Cardiff County Council and Carmarthen County Council co-ordinate local buses. First Bus are the main bus operators.

The Beacons Bus is a special service from towns in south Wales to the Brecon Beacons National Park. It runs during the summer - every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from May to the end of August. This European funded project tries to improve public transport and cut traffic in the National Park - so leave your car and take the bus!

The circular route includes stops at Hay-on-Wye, Garwnant , Brecon Mountain Railway, Aberglasny, the National Botanic Gardens, Crickhowell and Abergavenny.
