Overview

Stretching from Carmarthen to Llandovery, the Tywi Valley is wonderfully lush and gentle landscape. Hills undulate gracefully, the River Twyi winds slowly along its course; castles and ruins cut the skyline.

  • Much of southwest Wales is wrapped in Arthurian legend and with Merlin's hometown Carmarthen nearby there is always a touch of magic in the air. But the Twyi Valley seems to capture it more than other places - like a set from Excalibur the Twyi Valley is somewhere to forget and immerse yourself.

Things to do

  • Make a trip to craggy Carreg Cennen Castle, in one of the most stunning locations in Wales
