As teachers, we are obliged to take our holidays during 'peak periods'. Having tried several 'adults only' sites, we decided that well-behaved kids were preferable to no so well-behaved adults! When our usual site in N Cornwall was full, we decided to venture further afield and chanced upon Kenneggy Cove. We don't have electric and all mod cons, so the 'fundamentals' are vey important to us - tranquility, views, proximity to beach and sea and above all, top-class ablution facilites. Kenneggy has it all in spades! Add to this a two-fold icing on the cake - 1) very civilised and discreet catering facilities - After 2 days of doing our self-reliant thing with the Trangia, we relented and for the next 5 mornings turned up at the house, along with our fellow campers, large plate in hand to be served a full English, which we enjoyed outside the tent in glorious sunshine! (They also provide continental breakfasts for the not so greedy!)
2)The place has a special atmosphere, hard to describe. It's obviously a family home and the owners make you feel like a house (or garden!) guest rather than a 'punter'. We met some great people (with well-behaved kids)!, most of whom come every summer and even a Dutch family on their fifth visit! We, like them, have booked for next year.
To summarise: It does what it says on the brochure. Perfect base for exploring the far west of Cornwall and great value for money.
