Penzance is a site of historical interest with pre-historic stone circles, standing stones and settlements and early Christian activity all evident. It is also a focal point of many a Celtic legend. Additionally the magnificent heritage site of St Michael's Mount stands in Mounts bay, which Penzance overlooks.

The area around Penzance is one of outstanding natural beauty and is certainly worth exploring. Its cliff walks, sandy beaches, palm trees, secluded coves, heather and gorse moors and clear seas provide an environment as beautiful and diverse as its shopping opportunities. Many artists and poets are drawn to Penzance, lured by the inspirational scenery and the friendly atmosphere.

  • Penzance is a great location to base yourself from when touring the surrounding areas of St Ives, Mousehole, Land's end and St Just.
