Zennor, lies eight miles northeast of St Just and is most famous for its association with D. H. Lawrence who wrote the majority of the classic 'Women in Love' here. He is known to have described the town as "lovelier even than the Mediterranean".
Attractions include the Wayside Museum, featuring detailed history of the Cornwall area. St church of St Sennen is steeped in folklore and houses a sixteenth century bench carving featuring a mermaid. Legend has it that a mermaid was spellbound by the singing of a chorister and so lured him into the sea from where he never returned.
