Designed by William Burges and begun in 1869, Knightshayes Court in Tiverton, Devon, is a rare survival of his work. The rich interiors combine medieval romanticism with sumptuous Victorian decoration and hold many interesting treasures. The smoking and billiard rooms, elegant boudoir and drawing room all give a wonderful insight into the ‘high noon’ of grand country house life.
