Set on the banks of the gloriously scenic Exe and Lowman rivers Tiveton is the largest town in Mid Devon.

For many centuries Tiverton’s economy depended on the wool trade.

Mention Tiverton to most locals in Devon and they will respond with 'Blundell's School' and 'John Heathcoat' (The famous 19th century textile industrialist).

  • Like the rest of the region, Tiverton has evidence and artefacts from its long and distinguished past, such as the remains of the 14th century castle, the 15th century church and late 16th century almshouses built by the town’s most munificent benefactor, John Greenway.
