The Salisbury Plain and Swindon region is easily accessible from all directions by road, rail, air and sea.
The M4 motorway passes by Swindon, from Bristol in the west to the M25 London Orbital in the east. The A346 and A38 link Swindon to Bournemouth International Airport and the south coast, and travel past the towns of Fordingbridge and Ringwood.
Southampton, Bournemouth and Bristol International Airports are all within easy reach of Swindon and Salisbury, with a huge choice of domestic, European and worldwide flights. Nearby Gloucestershire Airport has seasonal flights to Jersey and the rest of the Channel Islands.
The region is within easy driving distance of two main passenger ferry ports. Southampton, 23 miles, 35 mins from Salisbury, sails passengers and freight to the Isle of Wight & has excellent road, rail & coach links Poole Ferry Port, less than an hour from Salisbury, has passenger & freight routes to France, Guernsey & Jersey.
Rail links from London Waterloo to Penzance pass through many of the towns within the region, including Lymington, Bournemouth, Poole & Weymouth.
