Glastonbury is known throughout the world for the music festival that takes place most years in mid-summer - the world's largest. Sometimes this notoriety overshadows much of the place’s rich and mystical past.
Legend tells us that Joseph of Arimathea brought the Holy Grail to Glastonbury from Palestine and he built the first Christian church here. Wrapped up in the myth of the Holy Grail is the notion that Glastonbury may have also been the site of King Arthur's Avalon.
