Budleigh Salterton is just four miles east along the coast form Exmouth and similarly is known for its dramatic red sandstone cliffs. Whitewashed cottages with thatched roofs make this a very attractive place.

At one time it developed a reputation for an understated kind of chic and attracted the likes of P.G. Wodehouse and Noel Coward. The artist John Millais painted his famous work 'Boyhood of Raleigh' on the beach in Budleigh Salterton.

  • Budleigh Salterton is located in East Devon, which has been recognised as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). It is also situated in the 95 miles of coastline that is referred to as the Jurassic Coast and is Britain’s first Natural World Heritage site.
